Who does not love a good horror movie? To be very honest, almost every one of us loves to get those goosebumps. We love that adrenaline rush that comes with being terrified. But, do you think watching horror movies is the only way to be scared?
Think again. Sometimes, the things that happened on movie sets and with some of the cast are creepier than the movie itself. Read on to find out the scary things that took place on the movie sets.
The Omen (1976)
Being a classic horror, The Omen was really popular in the 1970s. The things that happened on the movie set, will surely give you the chills. Just a while after the shooting of the movie began, the son of the lead actor, committed suicide. Why? No one knows.
That isn’t all! Once the crew wanted to go to another place for their shoot and they used a private jet. During their journey, something happened and the jet crashed to the road, hitting a moving car, which then crashed into another vehicle. And, all the passengers in those vehicles died.
Then a crew member faced a life-threatening car accident on his way to set. Something to think about, isn’t it?
The Exorcist (1973)
Almost every one of us saw this great movie, The Exorcist, right? It was really scary. The main theme was the exorcism of a 12-year-old girl, Regan. Not everyone will be comfortable watching it without being creeped out. However, the things that happened on the movie set were much spooky than the movie itself.
After the shooting of the movie ended, three members of the cast and crew were dead. Wondering who are they? Actor Jack MacGowran who played Burke Dennings, a security guard and FX worker.
Other deaths that occurred during the filming of THE EXORCIST include Linda Blair’s grandfather and Max Von Sydow’s brother, who died on Max’s first day of shooting
Not only that, According to many sources, supernatural activity was a daily thing during the shooting of the movie. The set was burnt down twice. If you think it was an accident, you couldn’t be more wrong than that. The set which totally transformed to ashes was of a set of Macneil home. Although the set of Regan’s bedroom was saved somehow.
The Amityville Horror (2005)
Every horror movie lover loves both the movie The Amityville Horror of 1979 and it’s another version released in the year 2005. It was really popular among youngsters. The latter version’s theme goes something like this, the Lutz family moved into a new house on 112 Ocean Avenue, Long Island. After moving into the house, they experienced different types of supernatural things. And almost all of them happened at 3.15 am, when the previous owner of that house, a mass-murderer murdered his family members. The cast and crew of this movie, during shooting, all of them woke up at 3.15 am. Scary, isn’t it?
The Exorcism Of Emily Rose ( 2005)
It wasn’t really that popular but scary enough to give you chills during the night. The lead actress Jennifer Carpenter once said, during an interview, that her radio automatically turned on and Pearl James’s Alive was played and it was really loud. Spooky enough for you?
The Conjuring ( 2013)
This one is my all-time favorite. If you want to stay up at night, then this is the perfect movie for you. Especially if you are alone at home, and suddenly the current goes off. As the movie claims, it is based on true events.
It involves the infamous Ed and Lorraine Warren and the experience of the Perron Family when they moved into a new house. The mother woke up at ungodly hours at night and experienced creepy things. The real Perron family was present during the shooting and the mother didn’t want to go to the house because of so many worst things happened in that house and she didn’t want to experience them.
This is another great movie that is loved by the audience. This movie circulates around a doll, known as Anabelle, and the spooky things that happened to those who took that doll in their house.
On the first day of the shooting, the director saw spooky scratches on the glass windows. Not only that, On the same day, the demon sightings were reported.
The spooky thing is, on the script, a janitor was supposed to be dead on that certain hallway by the demon. Coincidence? Don’t be so sure!
So, what do you think? The movies we’re scarier or the incidents that were associated with them? And those who don’t be scared easily, next time you watch one of these movies, think about the incidents that took place in the movie sets. You’ll surely get the chills!
